Abstract
Beekeeping, an occupation with ancient roots in our country, inherited from the Dacian times, was, in Oltenia, a basic branch of the
economy. The products of the hive were important elements in the food of the population and in its spiritual life. They were also the subject of internal and external trade. Based, initially, on the control of the natural activity of the hive, beekeeping has improved, over time, by introducing modern techniques to increase the productivity of the hive and the quality of bee products.
