Abstract
This study was inspired by the mythical dimension of the bear established in the cultural history of Europe, with some traces and echoes in the Romanian cultural-traditional areal. The mythcal Romanian ethos presents numerous fictional situations in which this animal plays an important role (conciliatory, magical, terapeutical, initiatory). Because the analysis in the Romanian literature shows an unequivocal approach and I try to present which are, at the level of Romanian fantasytic tale, the mitem`s in which the bear is the main actor. I found the most interesting situations with a narrative discourse often applied on old myths. Even diluted, unnecessary or modified by the new plan of representation and interpretation, all the situations presented in this study express only the symbolic thinking of the former times. This symbolic thinking has creates or assimilated an eidetic perspective on everyday situations in order to anchor or to connect to a (different) symbolizing the universe…
