Abstract
The paper depicts a brief inroad in a less examined field such as economic press from inter-war Oltenia. Published with the support of local intellectuals, or out from the initiative of cooperative associations, calendars, newspapers, almanacs and economic reviews in the above-mentioned region, they were risen to the scientific level required at that time, being approachable not only for economists, lecturers, teachers, or banking officers but also for readers from villages. Most cases of the published works had an economic encyclopedic feature, among their pages revealing articles inscribed to financial – banking area but also for agriculture, crafts, trade or modern industry.
