Abstract
Through our approach we have tried to restore, according to our possibilities, the history of some Jewish entrepreneurs that distinguished themselves in the industrial and commercial scenery of Craiova. The sources point out some Jewish families living together in the same town (Eskenasy, Baruch, Samitca, Benvensti, Mendel, Waidmann etc.), who enjoyed financial constancy and owned priority in the following fields: ready-made clothes for men and women, hosier’s, draper’s, grocer’s, printing house, stationery, colonial goods. We took the necessary steps to restore, according to our possibilities, from the “Jewish entrepreneurs” history, the ones who worked in Craiova area.
