Abstract
Socrates is well-known for having set self-knowledge at the origins of the history of philosophy, which was considered a true revolutionary undertaking. He is the one who developed the rationalist approach to the theory of knowledge.
Such an approach might have previously had a different background, that of a sensitive perception due to weather conditions and patterns. Hesiod was the first to have mentioned the meteo-climatological factors. The present study primarily focuses on the rationalist approach to self-knowledge as it was conceptualised by Socrates.
