Abstract
The subject of the present article is represented by the analysis of the collective appellations of the simple appellatives (formed from the appellatives), registered in Muntenia. We based our study on the information found in the Toponymical Dictionary, realised for the specified region. For a better understanding and framing of these terms
within the general terminology of the appellations, we began with the schematising of the pattern in anthroponomy, the toponymy taking, frequently enough, through transfer, the anthroponymic material.
The information, selected through the principle of expressivity and the descriptive character, is distributed on certain lexical classes – animals, physical and moral characteristics, features of a place, ethnicity, plants, local source etc. – according to the origin of the denominations. Moreover, it is also taking into consideration, their territorial
frequency and distribution.
