Abstract
The significant increase in foreign direct investments (FDI) is probably the clearest sign of globalization in the last decade. Foreign direct investments, by their form and content represent a means of cooperation and relaunch of the international economic relations. Based on the determinants of foreign direct investments, the subject matter aims to analyze the decision to invest abroad under conditions of risk and profitability and finally to clarify the importance of FDI in sustainable economic development.
