Abstract
The study presents the main aspects and issues that point out the labor market in the region of Oltenia. Analyzing the labor market can be quite complex, because job opportunities are predominant in the urban areas. In order to meet market requirements, the rural environment needs to attract investments both for the development of farms and the improvement of agricultural activities as well as for the creation of jobs in the other non-agricultural sectors. The revival of rural areas depends highly on the firms’ economic performances to become competitive in the business environment.
