Abstract
Electoral behavior, a topic increasingly studied recently, is determined by certain socio-economic factors closely related to the transition
and the market economy. For the period analyzed in our study, we note the massive decreases in terms of voter turnout, decreases based primarily on citizens’ distrust of the political class, but also on some legislative changes. For example, the strongest of these was registered in the 2008 elections compared to the 2004 elections, the explanation being given by the separation of the parliamentary elections from the presidential ones and by the change of the voting method, by introducing the uninominal vote for the parliamentary elections.
Our research aims at an analysis of the electoral behavior of voters in our country after 2000, when society knew a political maturity compared to the previous period, on the one hand, and when new tools appeared, such as the Internet, on the other part.
