Abstract
Our paper is dedicated to the development of the truck industry in Romania. The problems encountered after 1946 worsened in the early 1950s, and we present a few examples of the waste of Romanian resources to manufacture obsolete Soviet trucks under license. At the heart of our project is the effort to gain greater understanding of the
fundamental shift from a bipolar confrontation to a truly global one, the impact of the new industrial revolution in the field of technological innovation, and the position of Romania in the international military, economic and political system – and the interconnections between all three developments.
