Abstract
In 1944, the cities from Romania were subjected to heavy bombardments from the aviation of the allies, the city of Craiova experiencing no less than four air raids. The documents kept in the archives of the city unravel the efforts made by the local authorities to limit the human and material losses, around the raids: the plans for giving assistance to the people who would suffer disasters, the evacuation of the population, the children, the civil authorities, the depositing into a safe place of the highly valuable goods.
